“I am awfully greedy; I want everything from life. I want to be a woman and to be a man, to have many friends and to have loneliness, to work much and write good books, to travel and enjoy myself, to be selfish and to be unselfish… You see, it is difficult to get all which I want. And then when I do not succeed I get mad with anger.” —

paradoxicalsentiments:

I believe if there’s any kind of God it wouldn’t be in any of us, not you or me but just this little space in between. If there’s any kind of magic in this world it must be in the attempt of understanding someone sharing something. I know, it’s almost impossible to succeed but who cares really? The answer must be in the attempt.

I identify as a lesbian. However, I do not like penises. I don't like them on my sexual partners and I don't even use penis shaped sex toys. That being said, my recent ex was a transwoman that still had her penis. I wasn't aware of this until were were about to have sex for the first time. I know I shouldn't have assumed she had a vagina but I'd expressed that I wasn't a fan of penises, sexually, and she never said a thing. I stopped immediately when I noticed her penis...(tbc)

(contd) I didn’t yell or get angry or anything but I did state that I didn’t want to follow through with the sex. She began saying that I’m transphobic for not wanting to sleep with her. She told me that I shouldn’t consider myself a lesbian since I wouldn’t sleep with women that have penises. She guilted me for an hour until I had sex with her. I hurt because I wasn’t aroused and I felt gross afterwards. My question is, am I really transphobic for not sleeping with pre-op transwomen ?

No, you’re not transphobic. She on the other hand is an abusive asshole that needs to be called out on her behavior, I’m so sorry she put you through that unwanted experience.

She should’ve said something long before you were about to have sex, certainly around the time you expressed your lack of attraction to penises.  If she was comfortable with coming out she should have done so and found out whether you were still open to continuing a romantic or sexual relationship, and if didn’t feel safe coming out to you she should have broken it off. What she did was not in any way okay. Even if you had said you didn’t want to have sex for another reason she shouldn’t have tried to coerce you to ”consent”

He raped you.

sisters, if any of you are on the fence about the CLEAR AND PRESENT DANGER that the trans movement is to us and our lesbian sisters please read this. this lesbian sister was raped, and she is not even given the kindness of having the crime plainly spoken as such.

this is what we are fighting for: our bodies and our minds.

fight for what you love.

name the agent. name the crime.

she was raped. by a MAN.

bolded above. i am incensed that this rapist still gets his gender identity respected even after raping a women with his PENIS. stop tip-toeing, people. he does not get to lay claim to womanhood. it’s all this gender identity bs that allowed this man to gain access to this woman and to then prey on her. every single person who perpetuates the idea that lesbians refusing to be with trans women is transphobia is contributing to the prevalence of crimes like these. just fucking stop.

What they did was rape and I apologize for not being clearer, I thought I had written ”rapist” along with ”abusive asshole.”

As for their pronouns, it’s not so much about me ‘respecting’ them in this case, it’s more about naming the problem.  This is an abusive trans woman, this is a rapist trans woman, calling her a man only removes them from that community and this type of behavior doesn’t get addressed or dealt with.

She was raped, by a rapist. Saying that the trans movement is a clear and present danger to women is irresponsible, transphobic, and just plain hate.

I can name three trans murderers, two paedophiles and a handful of rapists off the top of my head, and find you more if I look. The trans community isn’t so large, friend, those numbers mean something.

I can also remember a trans woman wanting to shut down and make bank off a women’s shelter that wouldn’t let them volunteer, despite the long-time and clearly stated “female only” mandate AND the fact that the trans woman was already a paid employee of another shelter.

I can think of Jessica Hambrook, who raped two women in a Toronto homeless shelter, as well.

This isn’t unusual behaviour. THAT’S the tragedy. This community might be oppressed by broader society, but they’re certainly capable of oppressing others, as well.
